Original paintings from the studio
Alongside architectural commissions, Evan LeGrande Wilson paints for himself — landscape, figure and still life, exhibited across California and Europe. Works from the collection are available for purchase.
Commission work and studio work feed each other. The discipline of painting a landscape at easel scale is what makes a mural hold together at forty feet; the discipline of working to a room is what stops a painting becoming self-indulgent.
Paintings are sold directly from the studio. For price, dimensions, medium and availability of any work below, or to commission a painting, email evan@lsi-art.com or call818.720.4779.

Commissioning a painting
Portrait, landscape and subject commissions are taken a few at a time. The process is straightforward: a conversation about the subject and the room it will hang in, a fee agreed against size and medium, a study for approval, then the work itself.
If the piece is intended for a specific wall, we would rather see the wall. Scale, light and the palette of the room around a painting change what it should be, and that is easier to resolve before the canvas is stretched than after.
Exhibitions
Evan's work has been shown at the M.C. Escher Museum in The Hague, the LA Municipal Art Gallery, the Brand Library, the Pico Rivera Center for the Arts and in salons across Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Belgium, the Netherlands and England. A full exhibition record is on the about page.
