Decorative painting & restoration in Beverly Hills

High-specification decorative work for private residences on the Westside — gilding, polished plaster, glazed panelling, chinoiserie and painted architecture, executed on site.

Residential work at this level is largely about matching. A new wing has to sit beside an existing one; new joinery has to agree with period woodwork; new metalwork has to look like it has been in the house for forty years. Almost none of that is achieved by specifying a product — it is achieved by hand, on site, against the thing being matched.

The studio works across the full range in these houses: water and oil gilding on ceilings, mouldings and ironwork; burnished lime plaster in entries, stairs and baths; glazed and toned panelling; faux marble and faux bois where real material is impractical; and hand-painted ornament, chinoiserie panels and grisaille relief.

We work directly with owners and, frequently, with interior designers and architects as a trade subcontractor. Sample panels are produced and approved in the room’s own light before anything is committed, and residential clients are treated as confidential by default — the projects on this site are shown with permission.

FAQ

Working in Beverly Hills

Do you work with interior designers and architects?

Regularly. We are comfortable working as a trade subcontractor within a wider construction programme, to a designer’s specification and schedule.

Will you produce samples before starting?

Always. Sample panels are made and viewed in the actual room, in its own light, alongside whatever the finish has to match.

Is residential work kept confidential?

By default, yes. Nothing is published without the client’s agreement.
